Anna Ruby Falls, GA

Anna Ruby Falls is located outside of Helen, GA in Unicoi State Park. It's a paved .8 mile trail to a set of double falls. According to some stories, a man named John H. Nichols named these falls after his daughter back in the late 1800's... even though they were noted on maps in the early 1800's. It's a great place to take a short family hike and picnic (many Ditmores have picniced at this park). The only draw back is EVERYONE has the same idea, so the trail is very crowded on the weekends making it hard to get good pictures of the falls without random people in the shots.

At the beginning of the trail. Lots of small falls and shoals along the way as well as large boulder fields.

Here you can see the trail on the right hand side of the picture. Not TOO steep but there are several benches and overlook areas for any pit stops.
